The 2025 F1 World Championship

I wanted to cover the F1 WCC because i really like F1. It is also a great story to talk about.  The intense battle between Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and Oscar Piastri.  The battle coming down to the last race of the season. People are pumped to see who will be the 2025 f1 champ.

Lights out and away we go: Title fight between Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and Oscar Piastri

The photo shows the start of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.  It is a good photo because it gives a sense of what an F1 feels like.  There are multiple cars competing for a higher position. Also, the 3 drivers competing for a championship are the closest to us.  I think something is missing is the focus on the 3 drivers I'm trying to emphasize.  Since there I can't show words. It is hard to show the stakes of the world championship race.  The framing is decently effective. It shows Max being in front.  However, for non-F1 watchers, it's hard to tell who is who.  The photo tells the intensity of the races. It shows the cars battling for each position.

"Is Charles catching him"

Charles Leclerc is chasing Lando Norris for third. This is important because if Lando places fourth or lower. Max Verstappen wins the world championship. The photo is good because it shows a clear story on whats happen. Lando is trying to fend of Charles for third place. I think something that is missing is max somewhere in a photo. There are parts of the race where you can max in front with Charles and Lando behind him somewhere.  The framing highlights the photo's main focus. It's Lando trying to defend Charles. What's in the photo shows the what is at stake here. Lando wants to make sure he stays in third.  Charles has no chance of the world championship, but it is always the driver's mentality to do their best. Charles wants to get a podium.

This photo shows Lando and his team surrounding him.  The main focus is the driver fighting for the world championship. It;s a good photo because it conveys his emotions well. You could also see his team propping him up on their shoulders. It shows that his team laid the foundation for his wins.  I think a McLaren logo in the background could show what team Lando is driving for. It shows more clarity that way.  I think the framing is well done. It illustrates the triumph that Lando is going through.

Lando NoWins: The driver mock for bottling , wins his first ever World championship

We can see the details between each driver's emotions.  Max is congratulating Lando for winning the world championship. You can see the podium in the background. It's a good photo because even though we had disagreements and arguments in the past. The war is over. Each has done their job and the World Championship is done. I think that Oscar Piastri is missing from this photo. He was leading the world championship but slipped through the cracks of the media. He was someone who choked and was not really the main focus of the battle.

One won the battle, The other won the war:

Rivals congratulates each other after long title fight

The Winner takes it all:

A triumphant champion, A  peaceful loser,  and an unlucky teammate

Lando Norris stands on the podium, soaking in the glorious wino of the world championship. Max Verstappen loses the title fight by 2 points, but accepts the race win with grace. Oscar Piastri was 2nd in the race, while his teammate took the championship victory.  The photo conveys each driver's emotions.   It tells the whole story with just their faces. There isn't really anything that is missing in the photo. The photo framing really helps tell the story of the F1 season.  It frames each driver's story with just a simple picture. The gold medal on Max Verstappen shows that he got first. However, his face shows his sorrow for losing the championship. Also, Oscar faces the trophy, showing his shame for not winning the race or the world championship.

Conclusion

I chose the photos because they tell a linear, conclusive story. From start to finish, you can clearly understand the story. I start with the race start. Then I show Charles and Lando fighting for third. Then I make Lando the main focus, showing his emotions and the team around him. I then show Land and Max congratulating each other. I then took it off with the podium, ending with the 3 drivers. The story would change because different photos can focus on different drivers. Sometimes pictures don't always tell the full story. You can sometimes assume what the photo is telling you.

Visual reporting can be useful because it can convey a full story in just one image. When a photograph captures the right moment. A photo can be worth a million words.  The issue is what people will think based on a photo. I think that in the future we can see mostly visual storytelling with short captions. The caption can guide the story while the photo itself tells the story.
